Konkan is the narrow strip of land of around 700 kms on the mid-west coast of India. See this post for more details about it further. Konkan is blessed with an incredible range of beaches in the state of Maharashtra. Some of these beaches are in the district of Sindhudurga and further in the Devgad tehsil. In this blog post we explore the best Konkan beaches in Devgad area. Devgad is Tehsil in Konkan region blessed with some incredible beaches. To learn more about Devgad, please read this post further. In this blog post we will describe in brief the amazing beaches in Devgad area in the Konkan region on the mid-west of the state of Maharashtra India.

Mithmumbari beach which is closest to the main Devgad city at just 3kms distance is the best beach that is accessible easily and has a long stretch of flat unobstructed views and a great coastal scenic ride that goes further to the famous lord Shiva temple of Kunkeshwar. There are a few nice resorts and restaurants in this area. The latest addition is the Turtle beach resort next to the trees along the beach which you can see in the video above. This resort has its own restaurant and cottages with a swimming pool and also direct beach access.

Taramumbari beach is a much smaller beach but is further closer to Devgad city and before Mithmumbari beach. It is divided in two separate stretch of beaches. The hill where this beach ends is where the windmills of Devgad are located as can be seen in this drone video above. This beach is a bit rocky though but also has many sea shells that are exposed on the sand during the low tide.

Kunkeshwar beach is around 7kms south of Devgad and is also a long beach next to the famous lord Shiva temple. This beach has also the Maharashtra Tourism Development Corporation Resort (MTDC) where tourists can have a comfortable stay in various sized cottages overlooking the great Arabian ocean views and the beach. There are a number of more resorts around the Kunkeshwar temple further. See the location in the video above. This beach is not that safe to swim as the sand goes much deeper quite fast so stay on the shore line while visiting. The above drone video has link to the video of the Kunkeshwar temple further, and its location.

Devgad beach is the main beach in the Devgad city and is situated between two hills strategically. On the left hill there are windmills and a newly built landscape beautiful garden. While on the other side of the hill there is the Devgad fort a further around 1km north. Devgad beach also has India's first coastal zip line that runs around 400 meters starting from the windmill hill towards the other hill area. There are jogging tracks and restaurants on the beach for enjoying your visit there. This beach is quite popular for daily joggers and health fitness people who walk around the windmill garden track and the beach jogging track during the mornings and evenings. The beach itself is quite deep after some initial flat sand, so avoid going inside and stay on the shore.

This drone video also gives idea of the remaining parts of the Mithmumbari beach separated by the bridge and also shows the Taramumbari beach on the other side of the bridge along with the famous Vitthal temple at the Taramumbari village.

This drone video gives a birds eye view of the coastal road connecting the Kunkeshwar beach with Mithmumbari beach with a stretch of 4 kms long coastal road. This is a very scenic and short ride to go to Kunkeshwar beach from Devgad through the Mithmumbari bridge shown in the video above along with the Mithmumbari beach coast. There are a few nice resorts and restaurants in this area. In the video above directly you can see the Asmi beach resort which offers breathtaking views of the Arabian ocean in front. If you drive a further towards kunkeshwar on your right is also the Pebble stay resort offering great views of the sea on the cliffs.

Search for the name of these resorts on Google to find them to book directly.
